ive read that spearmint tea has an effect on lowering the androgen levels on women with hirsutism...does peppermint tea have the same effect and is there a certain time you should drink the tea? i don't know if iactually have elevated androgens..will it still work or will there be side effect if the levels arent' raised..??
will store bought tea in tea bags have the same effect??
Mint tea and hair growth?
Yes, either peppermint or spearmint tea may help you with lowering androgen levels. It doesnt work for everyone but I personally have tried both and it does help slow the hair down, and may stop it if you dont have a really bad case. I dont think it matters which you use because they come from the same "mint" family of plants. I wish there was a better way to take mint because the tea gets to you after awhile (bleh) I'd say give it a try.. and I dont really think it makes a difference when you drink it but I could notice a difference in 24 hours when I first started mine. I dont know of any side effects unless you get sick to your stomach from the tea. I buy mine from the grocery store and you can usually find it from brand names and sometimes store brands. I like spearmint better than peppermint tho :) I would recommend you try it and say give it a week and if you dont notice any difference than I guess its not working but I know it helps me :)
Reply:It won't work trust me. For hair to grow back on bald spots, you need some way to stimulate the regrowth of dead and deactivated hair follicles, and I just don't see mint tea doing that. There are currently no effective cure for male baldness. It's one of the failures of modern science.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't read the details clearly. For reducing hair, I don't know. I've never heard of such a thing.
